Project background

Create a postcard to inform the amazing people in Kingston, Ontario of the newest pop-up restaurant with an entirely gluten-free menu.

GOALS

  • Have guests visit the restaurant by walk-in or reservation!

  • Use code"grateful" when making a reservation for a free dessert!

Audience & Tone

We are communicating with university students, parents, and families/residents of Kingston who want to eat healthier for their money. This customer wants to support local and dine comfortably knowing that any diet restrictions will not be an issue.

The tone is informative, fun, and enticing.

Creative process

After speaking with the executive chef and co-owner it sufficed to say that the approach to impress at the pop-up is "Fresh & Simple", with a focus on curating, catering, and elevating the dining and drinking experience. I wanted to highlight this passion throughout the ad for healthy and gluten-free options always being available. The emphasis here is comfort, enjoyment, and loving sustainable support for the city.

  • Choose pictures of dishes, signage, and restaurant to showcase

  • Include QR codes for menus and booking reservations

  • Include a website link to the online menus

  • Include the address of the restaurant

  • Include IG and FB icons that link to accounts

Dimensions

  • 1 full-color direct mail postcard

  • 11" x 6"

Final results

Offering a free dessert with a reservation code is the best kind of call to action - instant gratification. It can also help measure increased new guest counts while the eclectic food and drink menu brings them back. QR codes provide convenient follow-through for reviewing menus, making reservations, and new memories. Only someone with gluten intolerance knows that the challenge is real. What a dream to dine out minus calling in or checking with the server to accommodate diet restrictions. No judgment at Whiskey & Rosé, only pure relaxation while experiencing the most unique and delicious gluten-free drinks and meals. Duly noted for all al fresco diners this pop-up offers the city's largest heated and pet-friendly patio. As the tagline states being "healthy, happy & hip" is what a guest's overall feeling should be here.
